Welcome to Little Lynx Preschool

Where Learning Meets Adventure!

At Little Lynx, we believe early childhood is a time of wonder, growth, and powerful learning. Our program is designed to nurture every part of your child—mind, body, and heart—while helping them develop the English language skills they need to thrive.

Passionate Educators Who Truly Care

Warm-hearted teachers, expert guidance.

Our team is dedicated to early childhood education, English learning, and inclusive practices. We hire educators who not only love children, but also commit to ongoing learning—ensuring the best care for your child.

Learning Tailored to Your Child

Every child is unique—so is their learning journey.

Small class sizes and a high teacher-to-child ratio mean we truly get to know your child.
We adapt to your child’s needs, learning style, and interests—ensuring they feel seen, supported, and confident.

A Curriculum That Grows With Your Child

Global best practices, made playful and practical.

Our curriculum supports language, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence.
Themes rotate monthly, combining WIDA, Reggio Emilia, and Universal Design frameworks—offering your child a rich, balanced learning experience across 3 years.

Playful, Purposeful, and Language-Rich

Learning through joy and discovery.

From songs and storytelling to hands-on STEM projects, creative arts, and imaginative play, children explore the world around them, develop their language skills, and build confidence—all while having fun, every single day.

A Community That Feels Like Family

We’re in this together.

Parents are partners in every step of the journey. We believe in open communication, shared goals, and working together to support each child’s growth. Our preschool is a warm, respectful community where children—and families—feel they truly belong.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We accept children between the ages of 2 and 6.

  • That's absolutely okay! We have many years of experience in helping children with little to no knowledge of English adjust and thrive. Our team has seen firsthand how quickly kids pick up the language and flourish in an English-speaking environment. Additionally, our teachers speak several other languages, allowing us to provide extra support as needed and ensure a smooth transition for your child.

  • Typically, we have 2-3 teachers for a group of up to 12 children. When we go to the city to visit museums, theaters, or engage in other special activities, we have at least 3 teachers.

  • Yes! Both snacks and lunches are provided. We believe a healthy diet is essential for growing minds and bodies. Our lunches are delivered fresh daily from První Pražská Kantýna—an excellent family-run business that thoughtfully adapts their delicious meals to suit our little eaters.

Snacks are prepared in-house with care and attention to nutritional balance. You can view our weekly snack schedule here.

If your child has any dietary requirements, such as allergies or intolerances, please let us know—we’re happy to accommodate them.

  • Open and honest communication is at the heart of what we do. We make it a priority to keep parents informed about both upcoming plans and anything important that happens during the day. We provide daily updates at pickup so you know how your child’s day went.

Each week, we send a newsletter with a summary of the past week’s activities, along with photos and videos. At the start of every month, we share our curriculum overview, letting parents know what we’ll be focusing on and highlighting the key events for the month.

We also hold regular parent meetings every semester to discuss your child’s progress, share evaluation reports, and answer any questions.

Beyond parent communication, we place a strong emphasis on fostering communication skills in our students—equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in the 21st century.

  • Our facilities have been fully renovated in August 2024. During the renovation, we ensured all safety regulations were met. We followed the guidelines of the Hygiene Office of the Czech Republic and the Fire Department Office, and we went beyond the requirements.

For example, the floor we installed is certified for a much higher level of fire compliance than required by law. It is also non-slippery.

Throughout the entire preschool, we used certified air-purifying paint. Especially in the Ocean Room (Relax/Sleeping Room), we used this air-purifying paint on a larger scale to ensure a safe environment for sleeping.

  • We don’t use screens as part of our daily program. We believe that early childhood is a time for hands-on exploration, imaginative play, social interaction, and real-world learning experiences. Instead of passive screen time, we focus on activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

To nurture a love of stories and learning, we provide a wide selection of beautiful books that are always available to the children. We regularly rotate our book collection based on the month’s theme, so there’s always something new and exciting to discover.

By keeping our environment screen-free, we create a space where children can fully engage with each other, their teachers, and the world around them—developing essential skills for lifelong learning.

  • We believe outdoor time is essential for children’s well-being, development, and learning.

For daily outdoor time, we take the children to Grébovka Park, just a short walk from our school. The park offers a beautiful variety of spaces—from grassy fields to shady trees—perfect for exploration, movement, and imaginative play.

We also organize special Outdoor School Days, when we spend the entire morning in the park, adapting lessons to the natural environment and giving children a chance to experience learning directly in nature.

Additionally, our Sports Club on Tuesdays takes place in Grébovka whenever the weather allows, providing even more time for active outdoor fun.

  • We are open throughout the summer as we want to support our parents all year long.

We are closed for children in the last week of August for deep cleaning, repair, and maintenance of the preschool.

  • One of our core values is an individual approach. Therefore, for the adaptation period, we will first talk to you as the parents and see what you envision as the optimal adaptation process for your child. Some children need more time, some need less, and that is okay. Once we agree on an approach, we will adjust as we go, based on the child’s needs. You can always talk to our teachers who have years of experience and are there to support you and offer their guidance.

One amazing advantage of our location is that in the courtyard, literally just a few steps away from our windows, there is a Kidzbay with a great coffee. We encourage our parents to go and have a coffee, maybe a little cake, and from time to time, peek through our big windows to see how relaxed and happy their child is with us.

  • Yes! We are lucky to have a close link to EduPrague - a unique service offering parents professional help choosing the best matching school in Prague. For our parents, the EduPrague Assessment in the pre-school year is free and includes also professional evaluation of the children.
